2024 marks the 395th anniversary of the birth of Simeon of Polotsk and the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Museum-Library of Simeon of Polotsk.
Traditionally, in connection with such anniversaries, the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve holds the VI International Scientific Conference "Simeon of Polotsk: worldview, socio-political and literary activity."
Conference dedicated to the study of the life and work of Simeon of Polotsk in the 18th century, analysis of his activities in modern culture; problems of ethno-confessional and socio-cultural development of the Belarusian Podvinia in the 16th–18th centuries; Issues of preservation, presentation and monuments of book culture of Belarus in museums, libraries and private collections.
We invite everyone whose scientific interests correspond to the topics of the conference in the following areas: history, archeology, cultural studies, philosophy, ethnology, philology, art history, pedagogy, bibliology.
Applications for participation in the conference and abstracts of speeches are accepted until October 20, 2024 by email: simeon.polotsk@museum.by.
